The Seaman Family Foundation presents a one year scholarship opportunity exclusively for the children of Seaman Corporation associates.

funded by the Seaman Family Foundation.

Up to 5 scholarships from $2,000 - $3,500 awarded on the basis of:

   Personal motivation/ ambition - a "self-starter"

  Academic achievement (High School transcript is required with application)

  Involvement in extracurricular activities (sports, clubs, arts, etc.)

   Community involvement (volunteer activities, church, work, etc.)

   Financial need

The selection process is managed by an independent committee appointed by the Wayne County Community Foundation. The committee will not include Seaman Corporation associates or Seaman family members.


Criteria for Applicants:

  • Current graduating high school senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited institution of higher learning (college, university, vocational or technical school).

  • Open to the biological, adopted and step-children of a current full time Seaman Corporation associate* who has worked for the company for at least one year at the time of the application deadline.

  • Parent must be an active Seaman Corporation associate* at the time of the application submission.

*  Children of Company Officers, Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) members, and Seaman family members are not eligible to apply.

The Seaman Family Foundation

Richard and Judy Seaman founded the Seaman Family Foundation in 1994 to support philanthropic causes and to cultivate the spirit of giving within future family generations. Foundation Grant making focuses on educational and economic development initiatives that empower individuals and organizations in sustainable ways.

Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than four million dollars to local and national organizations.
