In this Mojave Desert, California application, Southern California Natural Gas chose to line this 4-impoundment facility with 8138 XR-5. The intense heat, coupled with the daily temperature swings dictated that a high UV-resistant, low thermal expansion-contraction membrane had to be used. Over 500,000 square feet of XR-5 is in service at this site, which is shown under construction in this photograph.
