Staging & Event Productions

Keder skins and custom fabric panels for stage roofs and event structures, made to fit your frames and delivered under your name.

Keder Skins for Stage Roofs

Lightweight Structures designs and makes fabric panels for stages, custom-designed event structures, and shade walkways. In the staging world these panels are often called keder skins: fabric panels with a keder edge that slides into the aluminum extrusions of a stage roof or truss system. We fabricate skins and panels to fit your existing frames, with the exact finish details that you want, and we offer graphics on the fabric using methods tailored to the requirements.

Because a keder panel slides in and out of its rail, a damaged skin can be replaced on its own. We fabricate individual replacement panels, and we stock the rails and extrusions and Renew Keder repair products that keep panels in service.

White-Label Fabrication for Staging Companies

Lightweight works as your subcontractor. Your projects stay confidential, and we never market our work under your name without permission. Lightweight Structures does not install. Your project is completed by our network of certified installation partners. On staging work that is often your own crew, handling the load-in and the load-out.

Where a venue or fire marshal requires flame certification, we fabricate with certified fabrics and supply the flame-certification documentation for the fabric in your panels. When a project needs engineering, Design & Engineering provides design services and PE-backed certification for tensioned fabric structures.

Part of the Entertainment Production Industry

Lightweight is a member of ESTA, the Entertainment Services and Technology Association, the non-profit trade association for the entertainment technology industries. ESTA develops standards and certification programs for the industry, including the Technical Standards Program and the Entertainment Technician Certification Program.

Lightweight also holds memberships in the Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), the Manufacturers and Tent Renters Association (MATRA), and the North East Canvas Products Association (NECPA).

Keder

Keder is the rope edge that connects a fabric panel to its frame. It slides into a channel in an aluminum rail, and the rails fit almost any existing frame.
