Fabric Panel Manufacturing

Get fabric panels made for the structure, not a one-size-fits-all solution. Lightweight Structures combines experienced fabrication with engineered materials and precise paneling to deliver panels that fit your dimensions, connection details, and project requirements. From new clearspan roofs and tensile shade to rental structures and replacement covers, we create fabric structures that are ready to perform.

Engineered Fabric Solutions for Complex Structures

Lightweight Structures manufactures custom fabric panels for new structures and existing fabric systems, including clearspan roofs, tensile shade structures, rental applications, and reskins.

Send us your drawings, project details, or an initial concept for prompt feedback. We can also provide free samples of proposed materials to North American addresses.

Our capabilities include:

  • Manufacturing clearspan roof panels, gables, and sidewalls, as well as fabric panels for peak tops and high peaks.
  • Creating custom fabric panels for unique rental applications.
  • Assistance with shop drawings, engineering, and fabric choice for all types of tensioned fabric structures, temporary and permanent.
  • Manufacturing tensile structures and tensile shade panels for custom applications.
  • Designing and making fabric panels to replace the fabric on existing tensioned fabric structures.

From Design Intent to Fabricated Panels

We specialize in the fabrication of clearspan structures, architectural facade panels, and tensile structures. Whether working from your drawings or collaborating with our engineering team, we deliver panels precision-cut and welded to your exact frame or cable layouts. From temporary installations to permanent architectural applications, we select materials and fabrication details to meet the specific requirements of each project.

Fabric Sourcing

We are not a fabric distributor. We engineer and fabricate with coated fabrics and films selected for each project’s structural demands, expected service life, light transmission, and finish. Lightweight Structures is part of Seaman Corporation, a U.S. manufacturer of high-performance coated fabrics since 1949.

For architectural membranes, Seaman’s Shelter-Rite® Architectural Fabrics supplies the coated fabrics used in many fabric structure applications. Lightweight Structures focuses on engineering and fabricating those materials into finished panels and structural fabric assemblies.

If you’re selecting architectural membrane by the roll, explore Shelter-Rite Architectural Fabrics. If you need engineered, fabricated panels for a structure, Lightweight Structures can help.

Keder

Keder is the rope edge that connects a fabric panel to its frame. It slides into a channel in an aluminum rail, and the rails fit almost any existing frame.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Lightweight Structures manufacture panels from our drawings?

Yes. Lightweight Structures can work from customer-provided drawings and project specifications. If you need help developing the design, our team can also provide engineering support, shop drawings, and fabric-selection guidance, depending on the project’s requirements.

Can you manufacture replacement panels for an existing fabric structure?

Yes. Lightweight Structures fabricates replacement panels for existing fabric structures, including frame-supported and tensile systems. The appropriate approach depends on the existing structure, attachment details, available documentation, and requirements for the replacement fabric.

How do I choose the right fabric for my project?

The right fabric depends on factors such as structural loads, expected service life, light transmission, environmental exposure, appearance, and how the panels will be attached. Our team can help evaluate these requirements and recommend suitable materials for your application. ;
