Seaman Corporation's IFAI Expo Booth Activity Benefits Cancer Charity

Posted by Kim Seaman on May 22, 2008

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute received a contribution from Seaman Corporation as a result of the company’s booth activity during the recent IFAI Expo in Las Vegas.

A check for $1,535 was presented by Richard Seaman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaman Corporation. Prior to the show, Seaman Corporation distributed blue wrist bands to customers, suppliers, colleagues, associates and friends of the company, asking them to visit the booth and spin a wheel to help determine the amount of the company’s donation.

“Every year, we try to support the IFAI Expo by punctuating our appearance with unique activities,” said Seaman. “Very soon, our company will be 59 years old, and we wanted to highlight our continuing commitment to building on our technological advances. At the same time, we have great admiration for The Jimmy Fund and its pledge to continual research involving the treatment and cure of cancer, particularly in children.

“In addition, Dana-Farber is especially close to the heart of the Seaman Corporation and the Seaman family because we are grateful for the important cancer treatment received there by our founder, and my father, Norm Seaman.”

It was during the post-World War II-era that Norm Seaman launched a new collection of woven and coated fabrics, fabricated into useful items with two sewing machines in his basement workshop.

Today, Seaman Corporation has become the premiere source for high performance textiles using patented weave designs and coating techniques for high strength and flexibility. Worldwide, Seaman’s Shelter-Rite® architectural fabrics are proving their strength, all-climate flexibility and continuing good looks, fabricated into air and tension structures as well as awnings and military buildings.

Shelter-Rite also is the industry choice for truck tarps, while FiberTite® Roofing Systems enjoy the reputation of never having had a membrane failure in over 20 years of rooftop exposure. XR® Technology geomembrane systems also are legendary for their ability to control and contain everything from hazardous waste and petroleum products to potable water.
